After the hectic/stressful packing (I hate packing but I am now quite good at it) of around 2 tonnes of survey
equipment and spares in Cambridge in August and then the rest in October it was nice to relax for a few days while
waiting for our Herc flight to Terra Nova.

New Zealand is a cool place I can see why Lord of the Rings was shot here now.  Of course we did some important
work like collecting the batteries from Exide to power our survey equipment and preparing our mental state with some
site seeing!!

Then the day before departure we attended a training and briefing session and then finally the day after we departed
after sweating for 2 hours in our Antarctic gear.
